Our Customers

The following list includes our main Electricity Utility Customers, Industrial HV Plant Owner Customers and HV Test Company Customers for the HVPD Longshot™ PD Test Unit and associated On-line PD Test Services. Since launching the technology in March 2004, HVPD Ltd have sold over 50 HVPD Longshot™ PD Test units into over 20 countries around the world and have provided PD Test services in 25 countries. With this extensive applications knowledge, we are therefore confident that our HVPD Longshot™ PD Test technology can be applied to any electricity network, anywhere around the world.

Electricity Utility Customers

The electricity utility customers listed below are using the HVPD Longshot™ PD Test Unit for the On-line PD Testing technology to routinely test medium voltage and high voltage cables and switchgear for PD activity.

EDF Energy/London Electricity, London, UK

EDF Energy have been our main customer to date and have been our development partner, helping us to develop the On-line PD Test and Mapping technology over the 9-year period from 1998 to 2007. EDF Energy purchased 2 x HVPD Longshot™ units in 2004 and presently use these to routinely test and screen their MV and HV cable network in London, Eastern England and South East England (covering 30% of the UK distribution network).

Scottish Power Power Systems (SPPS), UK

SP Power Systems purchased PD test services in August-October 2006 to carry out On-line PD testing of in service 132kV sealing ends.

Portugen Energia, Portugal

Portugen purchased PD test services in August 2006 to carry out On-line PD testing of in service 275kV sealing ends located a combined cycle power station.

Electricity Authority of Cyprus

Electricity Authority of Cyprus purchased the HVPD Longshot™ PD test system in July 2006 to carry out PD testing of their MV cables and switchgear. The HVPD Longshot™ system is also used in a collaborative research project with the University of Cyprus.

NEAS, Norway

NEAS purchased our On-line PD Test and Mapping system in November 2004 and are using it alongside an Off-line VLF PD Test system to test and screen their MV and HV cables and switchgear for PD.

China Light & Power, Hong Kong

CLP purchased our On-line PD Test and Mapping system in August 2005 and are using it alongside an Off-line VLF PD Test system to test and screen their MV and HV cables and switchgear for PD.

Taiwan Power Company, Taipei, Taiwan

TPC purchased our On-line PD Test and Mapping system in June 2005 and are using it to test their MV and HV cables up to 345kV.

KEPCO, Seoul, South Korea

KEPCO, the national power company of South Korea, purchased our On-line PD Test and Mapping system in 2005 and are using it to test their MV and HV cables.

Tenaga Nasional Berhad Transmission Division, Malaysia

TNB-T purchased On-line Cable PD Test and Mapping system in Nov 2006. The system is primarily used on HV and EHV XLPE cables (132kV+). PD testing services have also been carried out for TNB since 2003.

PowerCor/Citipower, Melbourne, Australia

PowerCor/Citipower purchased our On-line PD Test and Mapping system in 2004 and they are using it to routinely test their MV & HV cables up to 132kV.

Electricity Generation and Industrial Customers

We have a growing number of Industrial Customers who are using our HVPD Longshot™ PD Test technology to test and screen a wide range of their HV plant for PD including cables, switchgear, VT's and CT's and HV Motors and Generators.

Alstom Transport, UK, Finland and Italy

Alstom Transport have purchased On-line PD Testing services from HVPD Ltd in March-April 2006 to carry out On-line PD testing of in-service 25kV VT's of the UK's West Coat Mainline Virgin Train Fleet of Locomotives. Alstom Transport Italy have also purchased On-line PD testing services from HVPD Ltd in October-November 2006 to carry out a similar PD survey of in-service 25kV VT located on locomotive trains in Helsinki, Finland.

Premier Power, Ballylumford, Northern Ireland, UK

Premier Power purchased our On-line PD Test system in Nov. 2004 and use it to routinely test and screen their HV Generators, High Voltage Switchgear and Cables other HV plant up to 275kV

BP Exploration (El Djazair) Limited/In Salah Gas, Algeria

BP Algeria purchased our On-line PD Test system in November 2005 and are using it to test and screen mainly their HV Motors and Generators but also other parts of their MV network for PD including HV cables and switchgear.

SK Corp, Seoul, South Korea

SK Corp purchased our On-line PD Testing system and training in June 2005 and are using it to test and screen their MV network including cables, switchgear, VT's and CT's and HV Motors for PD.

Samsung Fine Chemicals, South Korea

Samsung purchased our On-line PD Testing system and training in January 2006 and are using it to test and screen their MV network for PD including HV cables, switchgear, VT's and CT's and HV Motors.

Saudi Electric Company (SEC) Saudi Arabia

Saudi Electric Company purchased On-line PD Testing services from HVPD Ltd in March 2009 to test 230kV cable sealing ends and terminations at SEC substations.

Ministry of Electricity and Water (MEW) Kuwait

HVPD Ltd were contracted by MEW, Kuwait to carry out an On-line Partial Discharge (PD) test project to test MEW's in-service 11kV cables November 2008. The testing was carried out by using the HVPD Longshot™ On-line PD test and cable mapping (PD site location) technology.

April 2009, On-line and Off-line Partial Discharge Testing of 11kV Distribution Switchgear for Kuwait Ministry of Electricity and Water (MEW) & Al-Ahleia switchgear.

Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C (Alba) the largest modern aluminium smelter in the world

In-Service, On-Line Partial Discharge (Pd) Testing Of 11.5kv, 33kv, 132kv & 220kv Cables, Cable Sealing Ends and associated HV Plant.

The testing was carried out by using the HVPD Longshot™ On-line PD test and cable mapping (PD site location) technology.

Test Service Provider Customers

HVPD Ltd also have a growing number of Test Service Provider Customers who are using our HVPD Longshot™ PD Test technology as part of their range of HV Test technology. These customers use the technology to test and screen a wide selection of HV plant for PD (including cables, switchgear, VT's and CT's and HV Motors and Generators).
