NEW HVPD Kronos® Lite

Avoid Dangerous and Costly In-service Switchgear Failures

The HVPD Kronos® Lite is a permanent, three-channel Partial Discharge (PD) Monitor, engineered to provide asset managers and maintenance teams information about the electrical insulation condition of their MV switchgear before they enter the substation.

This helps to avoid dangerous and costly unplanned outages caused by electrical insulation failure by enabling better maintenance decision making, while simultaneously safeguarding on-site personnel.

Developed for the condition-based maintenance schemes of secondary, remote and unmanned substations, the HVPD Kronos® Lite can be installed inside or external to the switchgear cabinet to suit any physical access restrictions.

Sensors Used:

  • Detects PD insulation degradation in MV switchgear and cables
  • Combines three PD sensor types; Transient Earth Voltage (TEV), Airborne Acoustic (AA) and High Current Frequency Transformers (HFCT)
  • Modular, so as to suit any size of MV switchgear line-up
  • Network-enabled to deliver insulation condition data to asset management and maintenance teams in real time

  • Provides 24/7 electrical insulation condition data of your MV switchgear
  • Supports condition-based maintenance schemes
  • Distinguishes PD from background noise - Phase Resolved Partial Discharge (PRPD) Patterns
  • Delivers instant emails / SMS alarms to asset management and maintenance teams
  • Network-enabled for connection to the local server or SCADA
  • Suits MV switchgear panel/line-up arrangements/access restrictions
