Team HVPD smashes it at the Great Manchester Run 2018

A BIG WELL DONE to the 12 runners of Team HVPD who took part in the Great Manchester Run on Sunday 20th May and reaching over the targeted amount raised of £2,048.54 for our charity partner of the year, Centrepoint – a UK based charity organisation dedicated to supporting homeless young people into work and a home of their own.

Around 30,000 people took part in the race on the day and despite being a very hot day with temperatures reaching 25°C, it didn’t stop Team HVPD from putting on their trainers and hitting the streets of Manchester to complete the 10k.

A special mention should go to our Senior Electronics Engineer, Steve Jourses, who completed the half marathon (that’s an extra 11k in the heat!) in a ridiculous 1 hour and 35 minutes. Both the 10k and half marathon started off at Portland Street and finished off on Deansgate which was then followed by a well-deserved drink at a nearby pub!

So far we have raised £2,148.54 for Centrepoint and will continue to raise money throughout the rest of the year by taking part in more events.
