HVCC sensors are designed for permanent installation in the HV cable box of larger rotating HV machines to measure PD activity in the stator windings.

HVPD’s range of HVCC sensors have voltage ratings from 7 kV to 30 kV with Ex/ATEX versions also available. Three HVCC sensors, one per phase, are used to detect and identify both phase‑to‑phase (end-winding) discharges and phase‑to‑earth (slot) discharges in the stator windings of rotating HV machines. Individual sensors are galvanically connected to the machine’s HV bus‑bars.
