Alex has over 20 years’ experience in software engineering and instrumentation development, having obtained his Honours Degree in Electronics and Engineering from the University of Manchester in 1996. Alex subsequently received a Masters degree in Instrument Design and Application and Video compression. Following this went on to work in Mass Spectrometry taking sole responsibility for a wide range of Mass Spectrometer software data systems.
Having joined HVPD in 2012, Alex is responsible for ensuring both our hardware and our software offerings match the technical requirements set by HVPD customers and the wider markets we serve. Alex was one of the architects of the HVPD’s successful HVPD Kronos® family of PD detection instrumentation, and he was appointed to the Board of Directors in 2015.
As one of HVPD’s leading technical authorities, Alex has authored numerous papers on partial discharge condition monitoring, Mass Spectrometry Data Analysis and Image Processing on behalf of professional organisations such as the IEEE. He regularly represents the company at international trade shows. He also worked on developing the patents for the HVPD Kronos® instrumentation system.
