High Voltage Partial Discharge Ltd (HVPD) are industry leading experts in the market of On-Line Partial Discharge (PD) test and monitoring technology for complete medium and high voltage power networks. We design and build a range of electrical condition monitoring technology and provide solutions to a diverse range of markets including; Oil & Gas, T&D, LNG, Heavy Industry, Data Centres etc. across a pan-global client base.

To further support our US customers, and assist with the expansion of our operations in North America, we are looking for an experienced Test Engineer to join our HVPD Inc team.
The role would suit someone looking to build upon their knowledge of the principals of high voltage insulation testing, gain professional qualifications, work on technically interesting equipment and who would enjoy travelling across the US, and beyond.
The role requires up to 40% working in the field, including overseas and offshore travel.

Role and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Conducting On-line (& Off-line) Partial Discharge Testing (in additional to other condition-based testing), onshore and offshore at customer sites worldwide.
- Recognised as technically knowledgeable in partial discharge. Act as a HVPD ambassador to trade organisations/conferences (i.e., PCIC) by presenting papers, case studies and demonstrating equipment.
- Self-management of assigned projects and job cost accountability to perform work within budgeted cost estimates.
- Act as global resource on partial discharge consultation and expert analysis for customers.
- Provide applied engineering and technical consultation in the areas of power systems studies, power quality analysis, installation, startup, maintenance, repair and training.
- Interpret specs and customer enquiries and design proposals and pricing for customers.
- Attend customer visits to assist sales.
- Designing and conducting specialised training for customers.
- Mentorship and training of other engineers.
- Working with HVPD Ltd Head Office on the above tasks.
Training – Full training on our products and services will be provided.
Essential Requirements
- A minimum degree in a STEM subject (or equivalent) with work experience, or to have worked in a similar for over 5 years..
- Knowledge of safety precautions related to working with electrical and electronic equipment.
- Self-management of assigned projects.
- Strong computer skills including report writing.
- Must be legally authorised to work in the United States.
