The HVPD charity team has presented a cheque for £6,380.71 to The Brain Tumour Charity, our charity partner for 2017.

Throughout 2017, our staff took part in numerous events on behalf of The Brain Tumour Charity – bake-sales, fancy dress days, Wimbledon themed office day and Twighlight Walks, to name a few – committing their time and money to help us reach the amount raised.

Community Fundraiser for The Brain Tumour Charity, Kerry Roe-Ely who came in to the HVPD head offices for the cheque presentation, said: “Thank you and everyone at HVPD for all you’ve done over the past year to raise such an amazing amount for us. We truly appreciate it.

You have raised enough to not only fund a Family Day, giving 60 children with brain tumours and their families a fun and supportive day out together, but also could enable a researcher to analyse tumour samples of people participating in a clinical trial, helping us to understand the impact of the trial and make future recommendations for treatment, and more effective diagnosis techniques. So you all have made a huge impact with your donation!”

HVPD HR Manager, Kelly Thorley, who is part of the HVPD charity team, said: We’re really proud to be able to hand over this donation to The Brain Tumour Charity. They do fantastic work supporting people with brain tumours and their families, and they fund vital research to improve patient survival rates and quality of life.

That’s why we wanted to raise as much money as possible, and it showed with the range of events everyone got involved with. This is the most we’ve ever raised in one year and we’re extremely grateful to everyone who’s helped us achieve this amount.”

A special mention should also go to Riccardo Giussani, our hard-as-nails Principal Development Engineer, who ran an ridiculous 200 miles in the ‘Hardmoors Run’ last May for The Brain Tumour Charity!

From everyone at HVPD, we’d like to say a big “thank you” to our customers, partners, friends and family for helping us reach this amount!

An announcement will be made very soon about our 2018 charity partner.
