We are delighted to announce that our Charity Partner for 2018 is Centrepoint - a fantastic organisation dedicated to supporting homeless young people into work and a home of their own.

Recently, the Centrepoint team came in to speak with HVPD staff, to explain all about the work they do for homeless young people, aged 16-25, all across the UK.

It isn’t just about housing, though, as our team found out. Centrepoint works tirelessly to support homeless young people in terms of improving their mental and physical health, their education and life skills in order to start them on a path to more independence. Quite rightly, Centrepoint are extremely proud that nine out of ten young people who they work with move on from homelessness positively.

Rose Ashbourn, Regional Fundraising Officer for Centrepoint, commented: “It is wonderful that HVPD have chosen Centrepoint as their next charity partner and we very much look forward to the year ahead.  As a result of the company’s support, Centrepoint will be able to reach more homeless young people. We will ensure they have a safe and secure place to call home, become physically and mentally healthy, and gain the skills and experience they need to look towards a positive future.”

HVPD Commercial Director, Rachel Stratton, said: “We are really pleased to announce Centrepoint as our charity partner. We’re also very appreciative to the team for taking the time to come in and explain to us about the complexities involved in tackling homelessness among young people in Britain today, and the scale of the problem. Everyone in the company is really keen to support Centrepoint and, as ever, are up for raising as much money as we possibly can.”

Founded almost 50 years ago, Centrepoint has a network of 350 staff and counts Prince William, HRH The Duke of Cambridge, as its Patron. HVPD staff will be organising various fundraising events throughout the year, and will take part in numerous activities on behalf of Centrepoint, such as the Manchester 10k, and Centrepoint’s own events like the “Sleep Out.”

All proceeds raised in the process will be matched by HVPD at the end of the year.
