TEV – Transient Earth Voltage

The Transient Earth Voltage (TEV) sensor is a capacitive probe designed to detect local, high‑frequency PD pulses in switchgear, cable sealing ends, machine cable boxes, transformers and other plant. The sensor is very flexible and can be installed either inside or outside the plant under test. HVPD supply both indoor and outdoor versions of the TEV sensor.

Indoor TEV

The indoor TEV sensor can be either magnetically attached or permanently bolted to the outer surface of metal‑clad switchgear, typically next to cable boxes or terminations.

Outdoor TEV

The outdoor TEV sensor is fully weatherproof and can be permanently installed on the outer metalwork or earthed parts of HV cable sheathing.
