The PDSurveyor™ Family - 'First Line of Defence'

The PDSurveyor™ family has been designed to carry out Partial Discharge detection by all operational staff entering the substation or facility. 'Look-see' PD tests can be made quickly and easily to scan large numbers of cables and plant items for PD activity as a prelude to using diagnostic PD test and/or monitoring technology.

With the recent addition of 3x new handheld PD screening units to our standard PDSurveyor™ offering, HVPD can offer solutions for testing all types of MV plant in the voltage range from 3.3 kV to 45 kV, as follows:

PDSurveyor™ - suitable for cables and switchgear
PDS Air™ - suitable for indoor and outdoor switchyards
PDS Rogowski™ - suitable for machines with permanently installed Rogowski Coil sensors

Phase 2 - 'Locate'

Diagnostic PD Test and Location Technology HVPD Longshot™ Diagnostic PD Test Unit

To be used after PDSurveyor™ screening, the HVPD Longshot™ is a universal, 4-Channel Diagnostic PD Test Unit with synchronous capture of data on all channels (to within 2 ns) for accurate PD diagnosis. Suitable for on-line and off-line PD testing of all types of high voltage plant up to 750 kV. A typical test requires 10 minutes to complete.

For customers requiring on-line PD site location (Cable Mapping) along the length of HV cables up to 10 km, the HVPD Longshot™ can be supplied with the HVPD Portable Transponder and PDMap© Software accessories.

Phase 3 - 'Monitor'

On-line Continuous PD Monitoring Technology

HVPD Mini™ Monitor - Portable

This entry-level 4-channel, 24/7 continuous PD monitoring technology featuring remote data upload. Suitable for installation on switchgear, cables and other medium voltage plant (3.3 kV to 45 kV).

HVPD Multi™ Monitor - Portable

16-Channel, portable remote-access, multiplexed PD monitor technology with the ability to manage PD online after remote data upload, as part of a 'Smart Grid' solution. Suitable for continuous, PD monitoring of all types of medium voltage plant and cables (3.3 kV to 45 kV).

Phase 4 - 'Manage'

Permanent PD Monitoring Technology

HVPD Multi™ Portable PD Monitor

Supplied as a 16 channel multiplexed monitor, with all the features of the HVPD Multi™ Portable, expandable with expansion units.

Install at all large HV switchboards (normally without outage required).
Manage network PD on-line, using Ethernet / SCADA integration.
Suitable for long-term PD monitoring.
A true "Smart Networks" solution.

24/7 monitoring for continuous measurement and analysis of PD in both industrial and distribution networks. Provides the plant owner with alerts and early warnings. Asset performance can be accessed worldwide via the HVPD central database.
