HVPD held its second annual Asset Management Open Day on Wednesday 14 September 2011 with great success. Attendees enjoyed a range of talks and demonstrations to learn about High Voltage Partial Discharge at the HVPD training centre in Manchester. This was the second open day HVPD have thrown and this year's event saw more than double the number of visitors up from last year.
During the day visitors had the chance to watch seminars which were held in small groups, followed by a Q&A sessions. Topics included:
There was also a chance for delegates to question HVPD's expert engineers over coffee and network with other delegates whilst sharing testing experiences.
However the highlight of the day for most were the practical demonstrations by HVPD's field and training engineers which brought the testing technology to life and demonstrated how straightforward HVPD's equipment is to use. It also gave a chance for delegates to have a taste of the training programs that HVPD offer.
Visitor feedback has been well received; 100% of the visitors would recommend the HVPD-Open Day to others. Ben Hickman of ERA Technology Ltd said, "I found the day very interesting and informative, and it was good to have the opportunity to learn about recent software developments. There is a wide range of reading materials - it is obvious that a lot of thought and preparation went into today’s event."
