High Voltage Partial Discharge Ltd (HVPD) is a market leading
supplier of a complete range of On-line Partial Discharge (PD) Test
Equipment, Services and Training. Our products are used worldwide by
utilities and industry to assess the insulation condition of their
MV and HV Plant in the voltage range from 3.3kV up to 500kV. HVPD's
PD Technologies enable reliable asset management of HV and MV plant
including Cables, Switchgear, Transformers, CTs/VTs and Rotating
Machines.

High Voltage Cables & Plant Engineers based
at our head offices in Manchester, UK with considerable overseas travel.
Job Description
Field Based Work:
- On-Line PD Testing of HV Plant using in-house Technology
- Customer Training in the areas of PD Testing and diagnostics for HV Plant
- Meeting with clients and identifying needs for HV asset management/partial discharge testing
- Assuming responsibility for the maintenance and effective operation of on-line PD test and monitoring equipment in the field
- Evaluating the performance of newly developed technology
Office Based Work:
- Liaising with clients and suppliers
- Identifying areas for research and development
- Producing test reports and proposals
- Developing strategies for deployment of PD test devices on customer network
- Writing site procedures for field-based staff
Essential Requirements:
- An excellent communicator with strong inter-personal skills
- Educated to degree Level or HND (with substantial experience) in Electrical Engineering
- Chartered engineer
- A responsive multi-tasker who is pro-active and highly organised
- Technically competent in HV plant such as power cables, switchgear, transformers and rotating machines
- Background in utilities/maintenance industry
- Knowledgeable in asset management/predictive diagnostic techniques for different types of MV/HV plant
- IT competent
- Enthusiastic and quick learner
Desirable Skills:
- Experienced in working to ISO9000 standards
- Experience in working with power network systems (e.g. SCADA)
- SAP Certification
- Experience in working with asset management programs/schedules
