The HVPD Leadership Team is responsible for setting the company's strategic direction and fulfilling all aspects of the company's day to day operations, and call on their considerable expertise and years of experience to keep us at the forefront of Partial Discharge condition monitoring.

Our close-knit team is dedicated not only to meeting the demands of customers who rely on our partial discharge technology to keep their assets up and running, but for making sure HVPD maintains its positive, engaging working culture.

MALCOLM SELTZER-GRANT

TECHNICAL DIRECTOR

Malcolm joined HVPD in 2005 while studying for a PhD degree at The University of Manchester, which was awarded in 2010 for research into measurement techniques and applications of on-line partial discharge detection in power cables. Malcolm has held several roles at HVPD in test services and product development.

Having joined the HVPD Board of Directors in 2016, Malcolm is responsible for managing a diverse research and development team which keeps the HVPD at the forefront of Partial Discharge testing and measurement. He also represents the company at a wide variety of trade organisations, conferences and training courses.


Malcolm is a guest lecturer the University of Newcastle and serves on a number of technical and advisory committees such as for the British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing and the International Council on Large Electric Systems (CIRGE).

RACHEL OATES

COMMERCIAL DIRECTOR

Rachel joined our Sales & Marketing team in 2009 and has over 20 years' commercial experience. During this time Rachel worked her way up through the company and was appointed to the HVPD Board of Directors in 2015. With extensive commercial account management experience, Rachel has helped mould the company’s go-to-market approach of being a knowledge-based, knowledge-first authority in the field of partial discharge.

Today, Rachel’s role is focused on defining and implementing commercial strategies that maintain our growth tragectory. This encompasses a wide range of operational management that impacts all areas of the business, from responsibility for the Sales and Marketing teams and overseeing contract negotiations, to leadership of HVPD’s Finance and HR teams.

Rachel’s contribution to HVPD’s ongoing success is evident in many areas across the business - not least in boasting a client-base comprising some of the world’s most recognised brands and household names who trust us to help keep their electrical assets in-service.

MARC FOXALL

DIRECTOR, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND TEST SERVICES

Marc joined HVPD in 2009 as Test & Development Engineer, while studying for his Electronic Engineering degree. He joined the Board of Directors in 2015 and throughout his time with HVPD, Marc has overseen some of the biggest strides in our test service capabilities as well as our international growth.

As Technical Business Development Director for HVPD, Marc regularly represents the company at global meetings and conferences, delivering HVPD proprietary content such as peer-reviewed, co-authored papers to industry.

ALEX POLLEY

DIRECTOR, PRINCIPAL SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT

Alex has over 20 years’ experience in software engineering and instrumentation development, having obtained his Honours Degree in Electronics and Engineering from the University of Manchester in 1996. Alex subsequently received a Masters degree in Instrument Design and Application and Video compression. Following this went on to work in Mass Spectrometry taking sole responsibility for a wide range of Mass Spectrometer software data systems. 

Having joined HVPD in 2012, Alex is responsible for ensuring both our hardware and our software offerings match the technical requirements set by HVPD customers and the wider markets we serve. Alex was one of the architects of the HVPD’s successful HVPD Kronos® family of PD detection instrumentation, and he was appointed to the Board of Directors in 2015.

As one of HVPD’s leading technical authorities, Alex has authored numerous papers on partial discharge condition monitoring, Mass Spectrometry Data Analysis and Image Processing on behalf of professional organisations such as the IEEE. He regularly represents the company at international trade shows. He also worked on developing the patents for the HVPD Kronos®  instrumentation system.

NEIL MONINGTON

PRODUCTION MANAGER

Neil heads up production and manufacturing operations and is responsible for making sure our partial discharge testing and monitoring products meet the high standards expected by our customers. Having joined HVPD in 2017, Neil brings with him over 40 years’ experience in industrial and electronic manufacturing.

Neil’s former roles have seen him manage manufacturing teams of 150+ people at companies such as Celestica and Nokia.

LEWIS DODD

TEST SERVICES MANAGER

Lewis joined HVPD in 2013 after graduating from Brunel University with a Master’s Degree in Sustainable Electric Power.

As Test Services Manager, Lewis heads up our team of HV Engineers who are responsible for implementing our partial discharge technology at customer sites all over the world. Lewis also wears a few other ‘hats’ in his role with us, such as speaking at industry trade shows, and he produces much of the content for our CPD-accredited partial discharge training courses.

Lewis also regularly contributes to our peer-reviewed published papers, such as those published through the IEEE PCIC and PPFIC.

DAVID BANKS

PROJECT MANAGER
 
David joined HVPD in 2016 with a wealth of international project management experience across a number of technical industries, and is responsible for the planning and execution of some of our most critical, high profile customer projects.

Havin originally trained as an electrician, David leans on a career spanning more than 30 years, including working large commercial projects across the UK and the Middle East. His role at HVPD is focused on ensuring all our customers' partial discharge systems are specified and resourced correctly so that we can deliver them on-time, on budget and to specification.

JOANNA SZOLYGA

ASEAN SALES MANAGER

Joanna is the face of HVPD in South East Asia, heading up our sales efforts for the region. Originally hailing from Poland, Joanna graduated with a Masters Degree in Economics from the Poznan University of Economics and Business and joined HVPD in 2013.

Since joining, Joanna has worked her way up through the company and has been vital in growing our presence in South East Asia, for which she now also manages a number of dedicated partners and distributors serving their local markets with HVPD products and services.

Joanna also supports our largest client projects with commercial insight and helps helps steer some of our most critical business processes.

KELLY THORLEY

HR MANAGER

Kelly joined HVPD as HR Assistant in 2013 after graduating from Manchester University with her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and was promoted to HR Manager the following year.

Responsible for championing our high performance culture and making HVPD a great place to work, Kelly is walking, talking proof of how the company re-invests in its people - having completed her Level 5 course in HR Management, she earned her professional Associate membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development in 2017.

ANDREA CSANYI

MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT

Andrea joined HVPD in 2014 and leads our accounts team; she is responsible for the group’s financial reporting and overseas all day to day financial activities.

With an extensive, varied accounting background and a keen eye for detail, Andrea has been responsible for implementing many of the company's internal financial controls in place at HVPD. Working closely with the Board of Directors and the Executive Team, Andrea has helped the business to make the necessary reinvestment decisions to stay competitive and focused on growth.
